Full Time Position

Position Summary
Responsible for oversight and participation in all clinical activities, including Physician 24/7 Call Center, Care Integration programs (e.g. on-site hospital review activities, hospitalist “wrap-around” services, and integration with community physicians and Medical Groups)

Roles and  Responsibilities
· Oversight of physicians contracted as Physician on Call for the 24/7 Physician Call Center.
· Participates in recruitment, interview, hiring, review/auditing of physicians for activities.
· Participates in Call Center activities directly, during working hours, and for additional “on call” shifts as needed to complete call roster, in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer.  See Physician on Call Job Description for details related to receiving calls.
· Works closely with Director of Care Management Services to ensure that physician and nursing staff work in a collaborative team atmosphere with  mission and goals as focal point.
· Works in communities as indicated to promote care integration, provider education and “coaching”, and success of group initiatives.
· Serves as liaison with Hospitalist groups to assure that integration processes and information sharing are developed to ensure that goals of integration are met and physician relationships are strengthened and enhanced.
· Participates in other designated contracted activities as may be determined (for example, participating in Utilization Management review of Prior Authorization requests for a contracting Medical Group, if needed, or assisting Medical Group in community with provider relations, as needed).
· Serves as chairperson and member of Peer Review Committee, Credentialing Committee, and Quality Improvement Committee, working with nursing staff to develop agenda and effect appropriate activities.
· Works under direction of and in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Director of Care Management Services in development of new products and services as may be indicated by market demand and group needs.

Core Competencies:
· Managed Care experience, with understanding of Managed Care principles and concepts.
· Knowledge and day to day understanding of Health Plan or Medical Group Medical Management/ Risk Management principles
· Knowledge of health care access issues, PCMH, transition management , risk management

Educations/Licensure /Qualifications:
· BC/BE Family Physician, Pediatrician, Internist, or Emergency Physician
· Active non-restricted California license
· US Citizenship verified, or appropriate documentation of right to work in USA
· Access to internet and computer access (company will provide laptop and assist with internet access)
· Willingness to travel within California to meetings
· Prefer Bilingual skills

Emergency Department Physician
Davenport, Iowa

2 locations; East and West 2.5 miles apart
Approx. 75,000 patients seen a year between the two campus
Full Time = 140 hours per month
10-12 shifts per month (based on campus)
Bedside Ultrasound in both EDs, looking at bedside labs
Pay is $180 per hour; differential of $10 for evening 3p-11p, $15 for nights 11p-7a/weekend/holidays
RVU Bonus is up to $12/hour

East Campus
1) 12 hour shifts
2) Level II trauma center
3) 36 hour coverage
4) Sometimes you would be only one
5) High acuity; 2.2 2.4 patients per hour
6) 15 beds 1 dedicated trauma
7) Keep everything except some specific Ortho, burns, some Peds, and high level NICU
8) Neurosurgeon on site & taking call 24/7
9) Psychiatric Hospitalist program for coverage in ED
a) 24/7 coverage; must be medically cleared first. If not, admit to floor without issue
10) Fast Track - staffed by mid-levels
a) 5 beds
b) 25% of total ED volume
c) Open 12 hours per day
11) 30,000 visits, average higher acuity due to population and being a trauma center

West Campus
1) 17 beds
2) 10 hour shifts
3) 30 hours coverage
4) Fast Track - staffed by mid-levels, however, 1 FP moonlighting
a) 7 beds
b) 30% total ED volume
c) Open 10 hours per day
5) 45,000 visits

For NEW contracts: (only)
a) Relocation bonus
b) Sign on Bonus paid when you sign or at start (physician choice)
c) Stipend paid every other week (repayable if you do not start)
d) Educational loan assistant to help retire those loans. 1st day or shortly thereafter
e) PTO is 4 weeks
f) CME is 1 week (we also offer many here on site for free) can use for License, CME, journals, etc.
